Jess is a calligrapher, stationer, nature lover and free spirit. She loves the beautiful pacific northwest, whether it is hiking, backpacking or kayaking, you will find her trying to maximize her time in the outdoors with her husband and aussiedoodle Sam. Her favorite local backcountry destinations in British Columbia are Mount Robson, Bowron Lakes, West Coast Trail and Elfin Lakes. Jess translates her love for nature onto her illustrations and stationery work. A lot of her pieces incorporates monoline illustrations, loose watercolour, organic paperie and free-style calligraphy. With so many artwork being digitized and easily replicated with technology, Jess appreciates the irreplaceable essence of hand written work. Based in New Westminster, she loves local and tries to work with other small business whenever possible. She welcomes any new opportunities that can connect her to the community.
Jess finds calligraphy calming and therapeutic, every curve, stroke and line pressure slows down time and relaxes her mind. She believes every handwritten work is unique and peripherals the spiritually of the artist. She hope to spread this mindful practice to others through her workshops. Jess has collaborated and worked with many local businesses and had her work featured in multiple style shoots. Some are published in Blush Magazine, Pacific Weddings and Bajan Wed.
